Synergos Senior Fellows Program

Synergos, the international organization – working with partners to mobilize resources and bridge social and economic divides to reduce poverty and increase equity around the world – is now open to accepting applications for the Synergos Senior Fellows Program. The program offers this fellowship to civil society leaders who are committed to collaborative action to bring sustainable, systemic improvements for the communities they serve.

The Fellowship Program offers peer support in designing, convening and managing partnership processes and institutions; help with methodologies; space for sharing experience; and opportunities for professional growth and enhancing leadership skills.

African News Innovation Challenge

Africa’s first major contest designed to promote the development of digital media products and innovations is now accepting applications.

African News Innovation Challenge (ANIC) will provide grants from $12,500 to $100,000 for the best projects aimed at strengthening and transforming African news media.

The contest is modeled on the highly successful Knight News Challenge in the United States. Grantees will also receive technical advice, startup support and one-on-one mentoring from the world’s top media experts.

ISOC Community Grants

The Internet Society is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 to provide leadership in Internet related standards, education, and policy. It is dedicated to ensuring the open development, evolution and use of the Internet for the benefit of people throughout the world.

The Internet Society will be accepting applications for the November 2011 round of the Community Grants Programme from 15th August to 16th September 2011. Award decisions will be made in mid-November.

The Community Grants Programme has been established to assist Internet Society chapters and members specifically in projects that will:

• Advance Internet Society’s mission and goals specifically those aligned with ISOC Major Strategic Initiatives

• Serve the Chapters’ communities

• Nurture collaborative work among Chapters/Individual Members

• Enhance and utilize knowledge sharing in the global internet community and

• Encourage Chapters’ sustainability and relevance.
