Nairobi Kasarani tko strong ama vipi? Cheers

  13. what will be the responsibilities of the elected officials and where will be their offices

  14. Eliakim Okoth says:

I really pity our youth in the rural areas who have to rely on carless village chiefs to give them information regarding Youth Council elections,we all know that it should not be their affair because the elected youths are being moulded to remove them from those offices they’ve turned into bedrooms.Again, we know well that they should conduct the elections freely and fairly without rigging in their sons, daughters and even stooges who’ll dance to their messageless tunes. My concern is in the failure of the office of the Prime Minister to conduct a thorough grassroot awareness on the significance of these polls as well as monitor closely the electioneering process because very few are aware of where to get voters cards and some candidates don’t know where to register as aspirants.. The change we brought as youth with our many votes needs IMPLEMENTATION..

  15. athman Juma says:

To all the youths, lets look at this as an opportunity to make a change, we need to sacrifice to make way for change….lets work together ma youth and eradicate the menace of ethnicity and lets have a country with no borders because we are all equal…..mombasa people mwamko mpya….go to the pc’s office and go register as voters as your numbers counts tuji represent bila wasi to the ladies where are you, you are highly needed….cheers guys.

  21. muchomba kiria in tharaka says:

  34. owiti Joshua says:

Ministry of youth and sports could have done civic education prior to the elections. Most Youths are not aware of how it will be conducted and the responsibilities of the elected.

  35. JuliUS Maina Waweru says:

Have the registration date been extended,if yes till when.

  36. lexus ruth says:

what is going on? we were told that the registration has been extended till when? if a female is in the nominations and does not get any vote(not the case) then what happens with the gender equality issue? then whan will the nominations nay registration end and specifically when willl the elections be? this is causing alot of anxiety among us!

  37. andrew kirimi says:

The youth need to fed with more disclosures concerning the composition of the NYC, the various posts, roles and responsibilities as well as terms of service. As it currently stands out, only a general structure can be comprehended, which is insufficient.

  38. hi,youths let not be misguided and be used by reckless politcians, they are not for the interest of any tribe even there own but rather for there interests.let we decide and change kenya “yes we can”we are the leaders of today.

  39. Okoth Opande says:

Up for the National Chairman. Together we must move forward.

  40. cecilia muthoni says:

Mine is an appeal to the council to extend the voter registration process as it has come to our knowledge some of us rather too late after the deadline as this was advertised in the media which could deny some very capable youth leaders the opportunity to vie in the available posts. tyhank you

  41. JAMES IRUNGU says:

I would like to know the age bracket for one to be called an youth………

  42. Okoth Opande says:

    James ——–18- 29/35 yrs

  43. kiptoo saina says:

is it true that varius posts like the chairperson, secretary, treasurer etc are not in the grassroot structure of the council?

  44. Moses Ayietta says:

Some of us cannot access the villages but want to lead the youth. i.e. those working in Nairobi. do we have to go back to the village to vie for the positions. How is the registration done?

  45. hirob mulwa says:

let the elections be frank and free. the inclusion of the community is very important because the delegate process will actually be influential not based from electing a resourceful and outstanding person but tunajuanaje. Therefore am calling the youth together to bring up delegates who will serve them satisfactorily. lets be cautious. time will not wait for us to make changes but this is the right time. makindu guys, watch out. Vying for a seat.

  46. cosmas says:

please I could like to know, what will be the initiatives to this representatives? At the same time, there is no enough time for registration please extend.

  47. Odeny Salim says:

Hi! When will we have these NYC elections? Extension for the registration is ok but until when? I think this is not clear. What will the Ministry do about the young people who participated directly or indirectly (through their cronies) in the operationalization exercise like registration of voters and are also want to vie? This waters down the democratic spirit that should be part and parcel of the process. Like in my district one of the youth registering voters was doing so while campaigning for a certain aspirant and decampaigning the other aspirant. Law and due process must be followed to ensure fairness and democracy. Youth must come out in large numbers to elect their representatives. Odeny Salim – Bondo District

  48. vincent manyinsa says:

how can this exercise be non-renumerative yet its being driven by the government? is this what we call youth empowerment? the minister and permanent secretary should interpret this.voluntary service cannot eradicate poverty , minimise unemployment and redefine youth leadership.we want a sound policy on this issues.i think a token amount must be fixed so that this youth represention will be meaningful to us.otherwise we will dedicate our time 4 unproductive ends.

  49. REMMY BUTIA says:

My fellow youth, this is an opportunity come true. This is the time when we must rise to the occassion to determine our future in leadership.Yes, this is the time to bring the term “Viongozi wa Kesho” into its true meaning. I wish to urge my fellow youth in Tinderet to vote wisely.

  50. REMMY BUTIA says:

Are there any observers to oversee the elections at the grassroots?

  51. MEJUMA KITAMBI says:

Hey gus lets share the proper information together if we want change. I am one of the Aspirants and i just need your support and prayers for the best of “kiongozi wa leo” This should be a wisely, free and democratic vote to all youths!!!

  52. wilie mosh says:

poka location, Emali sub location we have registered but there is still no light on the elections date pls update

  53. LOMONG SHADDY aka LOSH says:

Hi everyone, it is true that not all youth are aware about this NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL ELECTION PROCESS, so it is our duty to inform them.lets all coordinate with our fellow youths in our respective districts to ensure that our friends get registered so that they can participate in this noble chance. To my fellow youth in EAST POKOT DISTRICT let us turn up well for this exercise. thank you

  54. wonipher says:

thanks guys am hoping this gonna be free and fair elections, because we know politics has already started beaconing

  55. My worry is: How should we trust that the exercise will be fair and all-representative if there is no clear information concerning who is steering the process, who is responsible to handle the registration book and supposedly register. Some people have taken this advantage to conceal the registration process only to the youth perceived their favorites

  56. Okoth Opande says:

Registration to 30th April and Elections from 16th May. This is a good move to allow more youths to participate in this noble exercise.

Koguta East Sub- Location, we are together on the said dates.

  57. Okoth Opande says:

I urge all Youths to read the National youth Council Act in the Kenya Gazette to answer all your mystery about remuneration.

  62. Chris Obiero says:

Hi every youth and wazees, The idea of a National Youth Delegates election in different counties is one of the best things that has ever happened in this country. one thing about our county (Kilifi) is that not everyone knows what is going on and we don’t have funds to let them know so we are trying to get funds from well wishers and concerned people to do a road show and let everyone know. we have also decided to contribute from ourselves if we dont get all that we need for the drive so that we can get public address and transport to go round. i am an aspirant (Mnarani Ward) and my main aim is to bring all of us together so as to stop ethnicity and work together to better the youth and nation.

  67. OCHENGE DEGOL says:

Please, I need clarification on nomination at the sub-location level, is it done by a group or individual youths? Major concern: – 1. what is the role of NYC in the National Development? 2. what are the benefits or privileges of the elected NYC leaders

  68. agnes ndwiga says:

am glad that the youths on this site have the idea what a golden opportunity we have before us.lets mobilize as many youths as we can so that we can have full participation.am seeing it as a golden opportunity so lets not lose it.i cant wait to go for it.am so ambitious, so determined.its our turn.

  69. kipchumba kiptoo says:

Hi guys let come up together, pull our socks ,take a step and move forward. This is opportunity for us to show our fellow country men and women that as youth we can.in order fore us to remove brokers, sycophants and deadwoods from our midst lets fully participate in this noble opportunity .Let the issue of renumeration come after the elction of office bearers coz at that level we can be able to articulate issues corncerning the youth.Mahtma Gandhi had nothing but FAITH AN STRONG IDEAS that is why he was able to unite, lead and inspire 200m plus indians. As one country united by the dream of our founding fathers of our nation lets turned up in large numbers and make this exercise real and youth oriented.WINSTON KIPCHUMBA KIPTOO,AUTHOR AND FOUNDER MEANSCORE PUBLISHERS.ASPIRANT ELGEIYOL/MARAKWET COUNTY.CAL 0727741495

  70. Hirob Mulwa Kamba says:

hello guys. let us have leaders who are qualified and have good public relations. To the district youth officers, please make sure that we do not have forged certificates from the candidates and such cases are criminal offenses. Thanks for extending registration and voting days.
    Makindu guys niko!!

  71. The nyc election will not be free and fair as pressumed.for instance the officials at nyamache district are poorly and carelessly handling candidate registration and tackling irreguralities.i took my papers there recently and the guys mistreated me in the process of registration.how can they violate chapter 6 of the constitution in broad dayligth?further to the grassroots registers have been concealed or hidden to lock out potential candidates despite the extention of voter registration given by the ministy of youths.who is supposed to intervene be4 we institute legal redress to halt the exercise in totality.

  72. P.M.Malinda says:

my fellow youth lets strive to take a competent team from sublocation to national level, this will happen if we defy those using the power of money and elect pple with indegrity, courageous and with agood understanding of the need for the NYC policy. Makueni county be worned some politicians hv sponsored some youth n are already pouring money and others are sponsoring their children. My fellow youth leadership is about volunteering n be a servant of the pple otherwise we remain self seekers like the generations ahead of us. Volunteer n you will never lack aplate on your table.

  73. isaa k melly says:

youths wake up this time its the only time we have to domonstrate good leadership

With passion an love for our country let us appreciate the effort and work of our leaders from the village elder to the house on the hill.let us emulate martin luther king thro non-violent approach.Kudos guys PUSH ON AN UP

  83. This is a noble idea, though much is expected of the young people as at now. It my trust that this move creates a space for the young people to create change by way of bottom up approach of leadership and not just being the consumers of information from Nairobi; Called circulars.

  84. moses marigi says:

this is a great idea but what happened to the right of information. there has been discrimination in the dissemination of information about this council. the youth are much willing to participate in the building of our nation and their low turnout on this, is as a result of them been denied information with an intention of possible irregularities by those concern. for a good start let the constitution be fulfilled by avoiding discrimination and observing the bills of rights. thats my opinion.

  85. felix mawira says:

its our time to make a big move!!

  86. cyrus mutisya says:

    Fellow youth,
The youth representation aspect is a wonderful idea. we need not vote for individuals but for our needs. with this i mean whoever you vote in should be well aware of the challenges we are facing and have the capacity to fully represent the youth.
Lets all register not for purposes of elections only but as well to get a count of ourselves.
in this direction, we shall together achieve more.

will meet you at some level but for now let us all register.

  90. ben onyach says:

there has never been a noble opportunity for the young people of our great country Kenya to demonstrate their leadership skills as this one. let all the young and great minds of this beautiful country rise to the occasion and show the world what we can do to impact positive leadrship in our societies. it’s reported that the ministry has been facing financial crissis and a such not adequate mobilization and sensitization of the youth was done. lets bear and the few of us who know what’s at stake should be ambassadors of our own communities in spreading this good gospel. thanks all and be blessed.

  91. amos kithuka says:

I’ve read the national youth council act 2009. It’s a nicely crafted document. However, I’m afraid its operationalisation might hit a ditch! Could it be,it’s being sabotaged in the fear that the nyc election structure, might transform into a powerful political outfit come next year? What’s ur take? amokith@yahoo.com

  92. Pmc 4 eva says:

Its a lovely idea yes,but isn’t the youth also in dire need of money?Voluntary is way out of order, but well, its an opportunity for exposure n who knows, maybe it might be the lucky breakthrough!Kjd North tuko,Kibiko Location,Emanyatta sub-location.Men lets give it a shot,au sio?

  93. lenic nyaga says:

the government must be serious with the youths!!!!no civic education education, look at the voters card, registration process also lacks credibility.am an aspiring candidate at Zimmerman..

  94. ken koech says:

i guess the body is not that serious to identify and assist the youth as they tend to imply. Reason being the awareness of all the process to the intended people (youth). I am sure this is not how we are going to change Kenya. If you don’t mind any advice reaching you. contact me on my e-mail am sure can help on how to do this things.

  95. ken koech says:

I am sure we cannot change Kenya through elections, that is a bogus way of thinking and even bring the change Kenya as a whole has been disparately talking about for that long time. Hey come-on what have you done has a person on delivering change? Change is broad it begins even from you changing yourself before thinking of changing others. I think we should be wise enough in making up our minds to address this issue since it has just been used by many as a form of employment.

  96. kipchumba kiptoo says:

    Hi guys
push on an up iThank you for positive attitude towards national youth council. Thanks to District youth officer Keiyo south. An interim chairperson kipchumba kiptoo Alias Gumba.

  97. millah monirei says:

hi people, l am an aspirant but i still think the process is not very open. l suggest if their could be a better way of letting all youth know about this so that their is diversity and competition in the election. but this is among the best things happening to Kenyan youth.

  98. Rotich K James says:

When are the voting cards distributed and how is it done to ensure it reaches all the voters at the grassroots level?please note every piece of information is very vital. All Youth let’s stand for real change.

  99. Rotich K James says:

Ken Koech you are right but i think it is us Youth who are suppose to give election a different and rigth perspective alltogether, lets prove elction can bring change we want by voting rightfully and purposefully without money influence

  100. lenic nyaga says:

this elections should all be nullified, for instance , Zimmerman has over 31,000 youths n only 1000 have registered reason being that there was no civic education.or they should allow those who have the PECK voters card to vote!!!!!!how can the aspirant use their unavailable finances to do civic education?let the GOK show some recognition of the youths!i suggest that next time proper sensitization will be done the same way the political elections are done.

  101. lenic nyaga says:

this elections should all be nullified, for instance , Zimmerman has over 31,000 youths n only 1000 have registered reason being that there was no civic education.or they should allow those who have the ECK voters card to vote!!!!!!how can the aspirant use their unavailable finances to do civic education?let the GOK show some recognition of the youths!i suggest that next time proper sensitization will be done the same way the political elections are done.

  102. ken koech says:

Rotich K James. but my worry is? What do we consider in that aspirant we are almost electing? Yaah i agree he/she might be sound mind and very promising but the most simple is? what has he/she done that can prove yes he/she is capable of delivering? Becoz me i believe it’s not until we go through an election for our capabilities of reviving a society can be seen.

  103. Josephine Njambi says:

Sensitization has been quite poor in most areas. I come from Laikipia County and it has not been easy to mobilize the youth to register for voting. I saw an article on the papers today about the NYC and NYF. What was not clear is whether candidates vying for the national posts will have to be nominated from the county level. The procedure is not clear at all .Dissemination of information by the outgoing council has been below par. They may not have had the resources but where there is a will there is a way. It is my hope that the incoming team will do better.

  104. nystar nyotas says:

    im in

  105. Sylvester Kimiti says:

We as youth in Yatta Constituency we need more information on the whole exercise

  106. koffigoh toroitich rotich says:

I think kenyans are now on the move to greater hights.I salute baringo north youth for the good work in the constitutency.success to all who wish to be elected in the coming youth election.

  107. This purported election is proving to be a sham let us not rush, the govt. should deploy all the machinery needed so that all the youth from the very interior of Kenya is informed and sensitized on this exercise. The current trend shows that this is a reserve slots for informed urban dwellers.I was an aspiring candidate at Kisumu county but my conscience wouldn’t allow me to participate in it any more.

  108. Rotich K James says:

@koech i agree with you.we all need to deliver to our people at all times not just to wait to be elected.lets look for those who have been doing good all through and elect them.@koffigoh i salute you and may you live to mobilize other youth in other parts to do what you people have done in baringo north.lets team up and save our county.BARINGO i love you all

  109. Rotich K James says:

if the government cannot even pay youth representatives in the grassroots level, how are they then going to create jobs for the youth who are facing serious unemployment?Give it a thought please!they have to be serious.

  110. Richard Chepsigor says:

I attented the Forum organized by Africa YOuth Trust and was shocked to hear that after election all the other structures except the national will not be recognized. Does it mean that after being used to elect others to the national level the others are useless. How can now the youth and without resources become strong in the grassroots and even decide for themselves. This is very anffair

  111. Jackson nyawa says:

For my felow youth, let create our by voting for our leaders, and be ware of politicians who are angrily watching. May God be with.

  112. hirob mulwa kamba says:

The government should look for ways to sustain the to be elected leaders. This will promote good governance. As i read one of the main goal of NYC is enhance the economic status of the youth. It is an opposite of a miracle that the elected will use their own funds during their activities which will leave them more poorer. Are we building them or pulling them back. Why does the government finance political campaigns. Why do we have MPs paid and not volunteer? Why then not for youth? Does this not portray Government stand for the youth?

  116. kiprono kosgey says:

the NYC should be very clear on the dates and schedules for holding the elections. we were told in Bomet that elections were to be done on monday,no,teusday, yes wednesday. this kind of inclarity should not be unheard in the NYC. also the council should develop an avenue for diseminating information to the youth so that they be updated on their issues

  117. Gatundu North will never be the same again. Let’s make the best out of the NYC by turning it into a platform for 2012 elections. We’ve got the bull by the horns and this is no crime. Wakati ni sasa!

Why use YES OR NO by picking and not ballot? look on this abnomalities.

  126. Dedan Mugo Muniu says:

From Nyanduma Location in Lari District. National Youth Council elections is the first very important step towards establishing a people driven institution for the youth by the youth. In free and fair elections some will win and others lose but we must all be able to work together to ensure progressive governance of youth affairs at all levels from National to Sub-locations.

We however need to separate this youth initative from ancient politics that sometimes derail development agenda and ensure that the National Youth Council is able to implement its mandate for the welfare of all youth.

Congratulations to my fellow youths who won grassroot elections, lets work together towards National Youth Council.

  127. AM SUPRISED WITH THIS ELECTION OF NYC BECAUSE WE WERE TOLD THAT 6 DELEGATES WERE NEEDED WHERE election was the only way to get them there4 why this issue of gender quality imagine have been elected and become position 4 but we were eliminated because of ladies who youth never vote for nor did they campain just bcoz they have free ticket what this can someone tell me what is this votes for if others are nominated?

  128. WHY DNT THE LAW OF NTC TALK ABOUT THIS GENDER EQUILITY AND PEOPLE OF DISABILITY YOU COULD HAVE SAID BE THREE DELIGATE THEN AND IT IN THE LAWS THIS THREE PPLE WERE NOT ELECTED SO CANT REPRESENT US NOR WE KNOW THEM AM IN KERICHO

  130. Nick Nguru Kanyuru says:

This government is taking football elections so serious but giving a blind eye to the NYC ELECTIONS. Surely, no money for mobilization, no officials from the so called IIEC. Can you guys believe that i was forced to give lunch for two guy who were doing youth registration from my area! I am happy the process has been stopped by the high court. 140. Am worried if the elections have been stoped, having struggled that hard

  141. COACH MALIK M MZEE says:

Hallo guys, please can somebody comment on this ruling by the high court. Mombasa youths are not commenting in this forum at all, we need to speak our mind and be heard together with the rest of Kenyans. The new constitution should be followed and adhered to like a religion and President Kibaki knows better. I support the ruling and still insist the government should go back to the drawing board before it is too late. Next year we have to take up leadership from al quaters. Can we organize something in August like meeting all elected youths and speak as one youth, one TEAM, one KENYA.
Fellow KENYANS, you can reach me on 0721 590 800 or nyaliswim@yahoo.com.
    Cheers guys.

  142. Jeremy says:

Dont judge who told you Mombasa Yths r not in this forum, then know we where here b4. dnt have ATT.
Its not a sweet thing abt the election being stoped. Can u imegine how many yths (ASPIRANTS) Who sacrificed thier time, Resources and ALL they had to campaigne, then its cancelled or those who already won. If you feel it was done you not knowing, then its you to blame, DID YOU READ THE PAPERS- NATION, STANDARD Newspapers. Mr. Coach there is a lot that I think is happening.

  144. ERNEST G G says:

Thenx 2 NYC and the government for giving youth a chance,am humbly grateful to all GATURI youths for voting me in as their leader and i hope to deliver for them,we need a revolved Kenya and remove al those enriched cronies of leaders.

Its a shame. NO ALLOWANCES FOR ALL LEVEls EXCEPT NATIOnal: THOSE THAT GET THERE SHOULD DO SOMETHING.

  146. Becky says:

I Strongly support the cancellation of this election. Why?:-

    1. There was no proper guidelines as to who should oversee the election. In some part like Kisumu East District, Chief was everything:- Chief campaigner to some candidates, Registrar of voters, returning officer; how do you expect these chiefs to work, especially if he/she is corrupt?

    2. Due to this short period, 60% of youths who participated in the election were recruited to become corrupt, not because they wanted to but because, lack of proper regulations. some we were forced to sell their livestock or borrow money to appease the corrupt administrators.

    MY SUGGESTION
Let ALL youths, provided he/she is a resident of that area, recommended by Religious leader, Chief, Ass. Chief, O.C.S and has ID vote.

Lets do away with registration of youths or be given that rubber-stamped photocopy paper to use as Voter Card. Shame!

The Youths who were brave enough to stop this, represent the wishes of many Kenyan youths.

    Bravo!

    Becky Ambet- Kisumu East District

  147. Geoffrey Nyarieko says:

Lets support the movement to nullify the youths elections because they were worse than the 1988 mlolongo systems of elections where those with short ques were declared winners. For instance at MASABA SOUTH district, candidates were in a given sub location were presiding officers at different locations, this enabled them access to ballot papers which they stole one or two copies and photocopied them, as a result their supporters were voting a bout 5votes at once.

  148. Johoshaphat Nyamache says:

It’s high time as youths we do our things in a transparent way and orderly way. We are in an IT generation and we claim to be of current system, why then do we do our things in a manner that is current. It’s unfortunate that the exercise was carried in a mlolongo way. My fellow youths let us put our house in order then we go for fresh election by bringing all youths on board without any discrimination.
By few youths going for election it will not cause any impact or will not be of any relevance at all. I too join those who went and stopped this shade exercise hoping that we are ready to reason together and bring normalise in the council. Please negotiate and do all this out court then we go for fresh elections.

Accept the exercise was not carried properly by not being transparent, not bringing all the youths on board and not ready to listen to others. It’s high time we can settle this out of court then we go for fresh election soon.

  150. kamwana maxwell says:

yes! you have nullified the elections, for us who performed justice and fairness at the grassroots, how are we assured of next elections? or shall they still be nullified once again. It is quite discouraging since all along the ministry of youth affairs claimed that they were that disorganized because they were carrying them out on behalf of the national youth council. They claimed that once the NYC is established, it will be carrying out the elections by itself.
We therefore want to know, which body is going to conduct the elections? is it the ministry of youth affairs? the provincial administration? the IEC? PLEASE MAKE IT CLEAR!

  151. JOSEPH MACHARIA KIGO says:

HI FELLOW COMRADES?I THANK GOD FOR THE OPPORTUNITY HE HAS GIVEN TO US THE YOUTHS TO MANAGE OUR AFFAIRS AND CONSEQUENTLY OUR COMMUNITY’S AFFAIRS.I SEE THIS AS A CHANCE TO REVOLUTIONALIZE OUR SOCIETY.WE THE YOUTHS BEING 75%OF THIS NATIONS POPULATION SHOULD NOT BE SHUNNED AWAY FROM PARTICIPATING IN MANAGEMENT OF OUR COMMUNITY.PRINCIPLES OF DEMOCRACY ASSERT THAT THE MAJORITY SHOULD RULE OVER THE MINORITY.IN KENYAN CASE THIS PRINCIPLE HAS BEEN SPAT AT.INFACT WE YOUTHS R IGNORED N ONLY INVOLVED DURING BURIAL N CAMPAIGN TO CHEER THE OLDER LEADERS.I DARE TO DREAM OF A DAY IN NEAR FUTURE WHEN WE THE YOUTHS WILL TAKE WHAT IS RIGHTFULLY OURS;LARGER PARTICIPATION IN LEADERSHIP RIGHT FROM THE GRASSROOT-SCHOOL BOARDS,HOSPITAL BOARDS C.D.F COMMITTEES CHURCH COMMITTEES DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEES N SO ON.AM NOT JUST DREAMING BECAUSE SOON WE ARE GOING TO STAGE A SOCIAL REVOLUTION-WE ARE BETTER PERFORMERS AND WE KNOW IT LET US RISE N SHOUT IN UNISON.I AM AN ELECTED N.Y.C DELEGATE FROM KIGUMO DISTRICT MURANG’A COUNTY AND A LAW STUDENT AT MT.KENYA UNIVERSITY.GOD BLESS KENYA & IT’S YOUTHS

  152. Ngesa says:

I thank the Ministry for postponing elections, because we as Kisauni district youths we only knew the election dates but we are still unaware of how the clerks, registrars and even presiding officers were appointed. Please may the concerned person clarify this to me.

  153. Antony Maina says:

Now that the election has been stopped, when is the court hearing so that us the youth can make the followup.

  154. SAID says:

Hi all young men and ladies of Kenya,
I am writing to you all who have and who have not participated in the NYC elections. I want to bring to your attention that whether the court clears the ministry to proceed with the elections or not, you should note that politicians have already hijacked the process. They have spent lots of cash putting in place their spanner boys 4 their own selfish gain. It is time we stop thinking with our bellys and start reasoning properly.

We have been given an opportunity to manage our affairs and even probably decide who will be the next prezo but becoz we are driven by our Gut and greed majority of us have chosen to be blind and ignorant.

Pls not that this country was rescued from hands of colonialism and imperialism by selfless and determined young kenyans like Dedan Kikmathi, Kungu Karaumba, General Baimungi and many others living and fallen heros. History will Judge you harshly as a generation that failed and betrayed the spirit and aspiration of the REAL founding fathers OF THIS LOVELY MOTHER LAND KENYA.

CAN YOU STAND UP TO BE COUNTED?

  155. Felix says:

The cancellation of the election is a lesson to the ministry of youth affairs that business will not be as usual. The Era of impunity and breakin the law has come to an end. The process need to start afresh we need to involve the youths at every stage .Those who ve purporting to be youths spokes persons their time is up.how do we risk having a process that lacks credibility and expect it to have acceptance in 10 million youths population
Its time for people to people youth movement.

  156. lexus says:

i think the best thing for us to do is to go back to wherever there were anomalies in the election and try to rectify this issue so that we can realize this dream because we do not want politics to spoil this chance for us.and please the ministry should tell us what the hell is going on coz hi maneno is very hush hush , not much publicity is being given in this issue, kama they are not happy the they should tell us, i for one think that it is unfair that we should be taken back after the tremendous step we made in the last month
my take on ladies is that they should not view this as a chance to pass coz of gender i want you to mobilize youth so that we can see that as a lady you can still have an influence on fellow women and youth, so please i personally do not want to see guyz complaining that i lady got her seat just like that so work hard LADIES!!

  157. anto kuch says:

i was elected as delegate .how will those result reach you ?this coz in kangema we got don care youth officials.how will i get sub-locational certificate bearing in mind that i will go 4 higher level as i wait 4 high court 2 make final judg am worried coz injustice can easily arise KANGEMA SOOOOOOOOOOO HELPPPPPPPPPPP BANA

  158. i am a delegate at karemo division in Siaya,am wondering who will compensate the delegate for the time and money they used during the exercise if the elections were to b nullified and i also wish to inform all delegates elected at the sub locations in every part of this country that waiting the court hearing does to mean that we could also wait to exercise our leadership skills and responsibilities to spear head development for the youths and community in our areas….for aspiring youth delegates at national levels and the youths with the fire to bring a distict change and network for the youths connect with me through 0714535211 n ma email.GOD BLESS KENYA N YOUTHS

  159. P.M.Malinda says:

My fellow wanayouth our politians feel threaten and is the high time we come together and form anational youth movement that will give the country afresh leadership. we cannot continue complaining without doing something and we have the capacity. This is the time for change.

  160. Gudah Kadibo says:

We accept that Youth are maginalised in our Country, And gov tried to come with anew idea to continue using the Pay youth since its elective post as Mps,Councilors and Preso why not youths Who arthey then?”

  161. Gudah Kadibo says:

    Respect Youths Kadibo Nyando Mpo???

  162. Joshua Owiti says:

My message to the elected youths in the past NYC elections is that if we want to win the battle, then let us respect our newly passed constitution and follow the formal channel of communication. The elections were not nullified and once the matter is in the hands of the judiciary,it should not be discussed out of court. The law requires that a petition be made to confirm that the case needs to be withdrawn.

  163. Coach Malik M Mzee says:

Fellow youths and young Kenyans at large, two weeks down the line after NYC setback yet no officiall communication from the two principals! I was expecting a press conference from one of the two. The Kamukunji by elections was cancelled and many kenyans went wild, the same to the KFF, FKL or is it FIFA elections. Two days ago i met an assistant minister and wanted clarifications on the matter but to my disbelief and amusement, he told me black and white that he only knew of ODM youth elections but not NYC elections!
It is evident that the government and current leaders are not taking the more than 10 millions YOUTHS seriously, I can smell somethng in the kitchen for them. We need young peoples who are brave enough to demand attention from the government. The new constitution only took care of women by giving them more than 60 seats for free yet women and youth are both marginalised. The NARC government realised the marginalization parameter in this country for the two groups that why YOUTH and WOMEN FUNDS was set. I know many women who are millionaires but very few youths who can even afford a car, who is more poweful yet the government is still giving women more than the jobless youths who dont posses any property. Sorry guys, this story is for another day.
Please if you are a concerned youth, please send your comments or suggestion to this blog or to nyaliswim@yahoo.com and suggest measures we the youth shall take between now and August. There is a SWAHILI saying goes by ” UOGA NI UMASKINI MILELE”. Stand up and do something and history will judge you. The likes of RAILA ODINGA, DEDAN KIMATHI, JAMES ORENGO, MWANDAWIRO MGHANGA, PAUL MUITE, ABABU NAMWANBA and many current and former leaders sacrifeced and suffered for this country. Our call is now, our time is now, we have to do something….it is me and you…it is now or never…..Cheers to all youths and YOUNG BRAVE KENYANS.

  164. COACH MALIK M MZEE says:

  165. Michael Gudah. kadibo says:

Fine Very Disgusting, but all youths are prepaired for Elections on time, this will make us do the right choise, Parliament to revisit their idea and stand on this elective post b4 it goes out of hand. We will question them at every level to respect the needs and youths future. Who fools who at this stage we hope never on youths.

  173. Coach Malik Mzee. says:

Fellow youths of this beloved country, today is end of June 2011 and the clock is ticking. This NYC mediocre circus was to be completed by August 2010 since then we have seen very poor leadership from the ministry of youth. I support Mr. Nocholas Kiruih idea of pushing one Mr. Otuoma to resign from this ministry. This guy is more concerned with football more than any other agendas in this country, I believe he is more conversant with the ongoing ODM elections more than the stalled NYC elections which is primarily his mandate where he gets his daily bread.
I think we are tired of this kind of leadership and poor representation and the next step we are going to take will be regretable. We have been following keenly what has been happening in the Arab world and we dont want to go that way. Please Mr. Otuoma show us the way before it is too late.
    Coach Malik
    Youth Leader – Mombasa County

  174. Moses gichuki ngechu says:

The court postponed the case to october 12. But the youth delegetes want it earlier. Lets wait and see what happens. I wish to be able to get at nyc. We should not be robbed of this opportunity by losers and other irrelevant groups. MOSES GICHUKI NGECHU 0720973816

  175. Wanderi Mwangi says:

This is not the kind of youth leadership we want in Kenya. Official communication is vital for all undertakings. Whats happening? Are the guys governing these things wazee? Let us know what is going on. Know that youths energy that you are joking with is like a time bomb. If forced by circumstances to explode, I feel pity for my mother Kenya.

  176. Coach Malik M. Mzee says:

Hi Moses, we are not irrelevant group(s) or individuals as per say for demanding what it rightful ours from the government of greedy Mps and ministers. Find out the real issues behind the petition and court injuction. The process was not properly publicised and enough funds were not allocated despite NYC being an act of parliament.
We are more than 11 millions youths in this country and only slightly more than 10% registered and half of them voting which was coming to about 500,000 youths. In my sub sub location, Kongowea in the heart of Mombasa which is very populated with a population of more than 3000 youths only 97 VOTED! Do you call this representation or is it mockery to democracy and participation. The election threshold was not met in the whole country and the government MUST go back to the drawing board for the process to start a fresh. The whole process FLOPPED!
If there are no funds provided by the government, let the ministry apply for funds from youth friendly NGOs and Development partners. If the process is not deemed or declared null and void by OCTOBER 12, lest assured that you will see many petitions and court injuctions.
    God bless Kenya.
    Coach Malik
    Youth Leader – Mombasa County.

  177. KAMAU BERNARD MAINA (YOUTH LEADER MURANG'A COUNTY) says:

WE WANT CHIEF JUSTICE WILLY MUTUNGA TO ACTS ON THE NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL ELECTIONS CASE PENDING IN COURT SO AS WE KNOW OUR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES

  178. Moses gichuki says:

Cheers Coach Malik., thanks for your reply. To me the only reason the petitioners wanted the elections STOPPED was because they are not in it. They are selfish. If indeed they have the welfare of all youth at heart then the elections was the first step. Even if we vote again we will never all be voted in. Only 16 youth will join nyc. Anyhow. One more thing. I dont see them winning the case! The ministry will form nyc anyway. And then nyc will be the only OFFICIAL voice of the youth. Ask yourself who are these petitioners! Who are they? Every time they want to seek revenge because of UNSATISFACTHOO hanks for your reply. To me the only reason the petitioners wanted the elections STOPPED was because they are not in it. 179. Moses gichuki says:

    Sorry for the hiccup

  180. Joshua Owiti says:

Ministry of Youth affairs has shown clearly that it cannot implement the youth policy by not even attempting to talk about the NYC elections.Kenyan youth are trying to be patient but no action being taken. The only channel of solving a problem peacefully is through dialogue facilitated by the Ministry of youth and sports. All the powers are vested in the executive to intervene and take action to our failing ministry.Hon.Paul Otuoma ,we respect you and you should respect the our policy which is yet to be implemented after recognition of the NYC delegates.

  181. Coach Malik Mzee. says:

What is HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can we chat guys the way forwart. Otuoma should engage the youths in open talk rather than remaining mum just because the matter is in court.

  182. Moses gichuki says:

Guys, what dont you know? Why do you what Otuoma to speak. Everything is crystal clear. On 29 june the court postponed the case to october 12 saying they what to file more submissions. Some youth fought very hard and even stormed CJ’s office to have it earlier. Even the ministry tried very hard but the high court refused to bring it earlier. NOW AS IT IS WE ALL HAVE TO WAIT FOR October. I hope that makes you happy. Any question?ou know? Why do you what Otuoma to speak. Everything is crystal clear. Even the ministry tried very hard but the high court refused to bring it earlier. NOW AS IT IS WE ALL HAVE TO WAIT FOR October. I hope that makes you happy. Any question?

  183. David Ochieng says:

It is now becoming apparent that this “court injunction” was not for our interest but it was from forces within who are out to curtail and dwarf our inspirations ,believe me not we stand to witness more injunctions and counter injunctions and numerous appeals.

    YOUTH LEADER
    KISUMU COUNTY

  184. Moses gichuki says:

Yes david, that is the point. Am trying to make people understand. The ministry and Gok had a great plan that would form a ‘national youth council’ that would then spearhead youth reforms but the petitioners aborted it. The petitioners are cheating us. Who are these petitioners? They are a group of youth from ‘unofficial groups’. In truth they dont want a national election, they want the ’16members’ of the nyc to be appointed from the existing youth organizations as that will favour them. Others are university students and youth from rich families who are not in touch with people at the grassroots. They are not known at any sub-locations. I know some who went to a very remote area and they wanted those who were elected to leave district level and national to them. Personally am a graduate of kenyatta university and l think for any one to try to exploit the “ignorance of the community” is bad. True there are some shortcomings in the process. Every pioneer project has hurdles. BUT MY MAIN POINT IS…. STOPPING THE ELECTIONS WAS WRONG ILL-ADVISED AND HAS A SINISTER AND SELFISH MOTIVE. Anyway l dont see them succeed. But for the youth of this country it will continue to be a 4D COURSE MEAL of despair disappointment delay and disillusionments. Yours sincerely,Mosesgichuki…..nothing but FACTS! great plan that would form a ‘national youth council’ that would then spearhead youth reforms but the petitioners aborted it.

  185. Moses gichuki says:

So you see. We must first allow the formation of NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL then we will have a voice. We must trust the ministry of youth. And please try to read the youth elections guidelines, so that you are able to speak from a point of information. The petitioners are abusing the court. The youth of this country have the right to good leadership. UOGOZI BORA NI HAKI YETU. Join hands. Yours sincerely, moses gichuki ngechu.0720973816 mosegic@yahoo.com …….FACTS!

  186. Mwaniki Seth says:

I am totally disturbed by how most of the government policies are implemented. National Youth Council Act 2009 gives very open information on what should come first before these elections.
However, this has not been followed. How many youth in this country know that N. Y. C. exists leave alone the gazzetement of the Act on 6th Jan 2010? How many know who is supposed to be elected, criteria to be followed and on what grounds?
Those who have now already been elected are heading to be served from this chalice- ‘ Being launched by mob because they are acting as vigilantes going round the villages beating up people in the name of security keepers and that they are known by the govt’
But who to blame? The same govt that knows them because of lack civic education to let them know their functions. If this is not going to be done immediately, i will then openly call it someone’s 2012 PROPELLING FORCE TO POLITICAL POSITION and then dump it.
    N. Y. C. is not a legal Mungiki, Chinkororo and others.

  187. kamwana maxwell says:

please time is moving very fast, we as the youths and derlegates as well fear the interuption of the formation of NYC by 2012 gen elections. as much patient we are our patience is running out!

  188. Abdinoor A. Haji says:

i failed to understand the motive behind the recent nalification of NYC election. am sorry to say this but the minister for youth is remaining a loaf about this matter and am worried if he might be among those who are ready to misuse the youth. i would like to encourage the National youth to air their grevencies and remain bonded to get our views been hard as far as decision making is concerned before comes 2012 general election.
we remain dubed by our politicians who are sick minded rather than creative minded

  189. Dr Gen. Thuo Maina says:

yes guys we waited patiently for the ruling of the court, but besides then some restructuring nid t b done; use of counties as oppossed to prov limits tb in line wid constitution.e.g issues of distr=constituency= division needs attention coz the div delegates=distri del. its unfair.

  190. Eunmice says:

we need not to seat back and see the youth die in drugs abuse we need to come together and form a group in which we shall help our fellow youth.lets unite and be one.

  191. simpa karasi says:

it will take along time when the kenyan systems will accept to take the kenyan youth seriously.otherwise the majority of people take collectively a youth to be weired and crazy and one who is simply in apermanent indicision.few accept that some youth is an equally informed citizen in rational thinking.some of us who participated in the election feel let down and realised the ministry of youth affairs is not very serious.this court things are only delay technic of whats asham.its a shame!

  194. Acctually the youths are really concern and ready to lead this country towards good direction. The court injunction waz well advised. As youths we should accept da rule of the law. NYC was to be or is to be established under the same law which is wel stipulated and which was not adhered to resulting to the court injunction. Let us kip da spirit on, even if da NYC is to be nullfied ( God forbid) but we known where da problem really is. Wot as youths we nid is find the laws and policies on the NYC, The NYC constitution and go through them and luk for ways of amending them if possible. The Government should b forced to give finances. Its true a united youth can lead da nation and da old are afraid of loosing their pot bellies. Tz october 12th.

  200. P. M. Nyaga says:

It is unfortunate. It seems youth messed up with themselves. Somebody check with National Youth Forum among other National Youth groupings. It seems these groupings, feared the proposed National Youth Council and thought they would loose all the benefit they are currently enjoying. Political interference notwithstanding.

  201. Calvince Odhiambo says:

we need to know how long it will take for the court outcome. even if one or two procedures were not properly followed, we must not forget the grave consequences of rejecting the results. we wait to battle.

Until when will this postphoning be? How stupid do we look as the young generation when the gover plays us such tricks & we remain cool without taking any action? Let us be up pple, unite our strengths & to our topmost voices shout for our rights. Otherwise, never expect God to intervene for us to get what belongs to us. One man said that ” in politics nothing happens just by accident, if it happens, then better we bet that, that is how it was planned by the holders of big seats in the gover” I now see sense in this. We where misused. Now what is taking place, we knows not & will never know unless we extrathink. LABAN ONGAKI-Nyamira county youth leader.
